While a fourth season has been confirmed for September 2021, it's becoming increasingly likely that the upcoming episodes will mark the end of Sex Education... at least as we know it.So, what's the deal with the Moordale gang? Who has already left the show, and who has stated that the upcoming episodes will be their final? Most importantly, when will season four premiere?

Sex Education was officially given the green light for season four in September 2021, though that was all we knew at the time thanks to a school 'news bulletin' on Twitter.
It was confirmed in August 2022 that the show was officially back in production... so it's now just a waiting game for things to wrap up.
However, production will continue for some time, with Jim Howick telling Digital Spy in August that they expect to film until February 2023. That means we're still a long way from anything remotely titillating like a trailer.
Thankfully, Gillian Anderson (aka Jean Milburn in her Sex Education persona) shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set to whet fans' appetites.
In the photo, the actress, who plays a sex therapist, appears to be getting ready for a salacious season ahead. She captioned the photo, "Jean's back! @sexeducation," and fans went insane.
Unfortunately, it doesn't reveal anything about what's to come, so we'll have to wait patiently for more information. We'll have to rely on old-fashioned guesswork when it comes to a release date.
Because of the pandemic, Season 3 broke the show's tradition of being released in January (which as we all know, threw a spanner into everything over the past few years). It was instead released in early September.
According to the South Wales Argus, which is based in the area where the show is being filmed, there has been a call for school extras, as characters have dispersed since the closure of Moordale.
As a result, we'd venture an (ahem) educated guess that the show's release date is set for September 2023, assuming everything goes as planned.
The prediction is a reshuffle of the season 4 cast.
Sex Education would not be the same without its A-list ensemble cast, each of whom brings a colorful and wonderfully strange character to life in the Welsh suburbs.
